One bedroom apartment – suitable for 2 people
in a dynamic, vibrant area of central Paris.
A 400 sq. feet 2 room apartment (living room and bedroom) in a 17th century building. Very comfortable for 2 people.
This is an absolutely charming corner apartment on a pedestrian street in the Les Halles area of the 1st arrondissement, with fascinating views on the passing street life below from the windows on two sides of this fit-for-two apartment. This apartment has an immaculate and superbly equipped open kitchen area built into the living room, perfect for preparing meals and entertaining good friends at the same time! The apartment has an air-conditioning unit - and electric fans.
The open-kitchen incorporates every modern convenience (micro-wave and regular oven, ceramic hotplates, smoke-extractor, dishwasher etc.).
The small but adequate bedroom (with double bed) has plenty of closet space for your wardrobe and there are attractive exposed beams in the wall and ceiling. A modern bathroom is adjacent with shower and bathtub, heated towels racks and a washing machine.
The exterior of this old but solid building, like many, can be deceiving to the eye as to what’s in store inside. As well as the wooden ceiling beams, there are exposed ancient stone walls that also provide cosy warmth and a glimpse of some history in this eclectic neighbourhood hideaway. This is a wonderful little apartment, with just enough room.

Your Neighbourhood
This is in the area of the former great Les Halles marketplace (the Belly of Paris), which has now become the Forum des Halles (a 4 level deep shopping mall with a vast underground Metro and RER express train system beneath that). Apart from the multitudinous shops, there is a 50 metre swimming pool and a 30 cinema complex. Ambitious new projects have been completed to create an exciting new hub of activity – as well as an improved Jardin des Halles, opposite the ancient 16th century Eglise St. Eustache, providing a quiet haven of tranquility.
Many of the streets have been narrowed, paved with mosaic marble tiles and the pavement sidewalks have been broadened to accommodate the outdoor cafés and produce shops that spill out on to the street. Around the famous rue Montorgeuil, electronically controlled bollards have been installed to inhibit traffic entering the area, unless for deliveries and emergencies. Outside, it is surrounded by the Jardin des Halles – lots of quiet spaces, lawns, trees and plants. A few streets northeast is the Pompidou Arts Centre. The next street east is Rue St. Denis, where various hidden aspects of Paris live on. The Louvre, Marais and Notre Dame are perfect short walks away.
